Hot Adult Domain Names to Be Auctioned Live at Internext

More than 250 adult domain names are going to be auctioned at Internext Las Vegas in January.
Prime adult entertainment names to be sold at the live auction include Porn.com and Pornstars.com.
The auction, to be conducted live at Internext, Wednesday, January 17, by professional auctioneer Monte Cahn, founder and CEO of Moniker.com, a Top 10 domain registrar, will be complemented by a silent domain auction hosted online.
According to Moniker, the value of domain names purchased has increased dramatically from 2005 to 2006, due to the increase in online traffic and the spread of broadband. At a large auction in October 2005, the top price paid was $435,000. In May 2006, the top price for a domain was more than $2 million. Recently, Sex.com sold for $14 million.
"The domain marketplace is really heating up again and adult-specific domains are among the most highly valued names because they come with built in traffic," said Farley Cahen, publisher of AVN Online Magazine. "Everyone should take advantage of the opportunity -- current site owners, domain investors and speculators."
Good buys abound, as well. Moniker's sale of Sex.net in May 2006 went for $450,000. Sedo sold Gays.com for $500,000 in October and Nasty.com in July for $200,000.
Cahen said he expects domains to sell for anywhere from a few hundred to more than a million dollars.
To participate, register at www.Internext.com. A password will be emailed, providing access to domain names up for auction. Fans can register their interest in a certain name, or list their own domains for auction. Names with the strongest indications of interest will be made available in the Live Auction.
