KINGSTON – Three people were arrested in Plymouth last night after an alleged armed robbery at Independence Mall in Kingston.

At about 6 p.m., Kingston police received a 911 call from a man who said he had been robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot near Jo- Ann Fabrics.

The victim told police that he was in his car when the robber jumped into the front seat, pointed a gun at him and demanded all his money.

After the victim handed over $200, the robber took the victim’s keys and threw them across the parking lot, then got in a car with two other people and drove away.

The victim was able to identify the gunman as someone he knew, Nicholas Smith, 21, of 12 Vernon St., Plymouth.

Soon after Kingston police notified their counterparts in surrounding towns about the robbery, Plymouth police found Smith and the suspected getaway car on Vernon Street in Plymouth.

The victim identified Smith, the driver and the third person in the car.

Smith, along with the driver of the car Andrew R. Jensen, 20, of 57 Lawrence Road, Plymouth, and passenger Brianna J. Carlson, 19, of 116 Centre St., Quincy, were arrested and charged with armed robbery.

A gun was not found in a search of the vehicle.

Jensen posted $3,000 bail and Carlson posted $500 bail last night. Smith did not post his bail, $7,500, and was being held last night at the Plymouth County jail.
