Diversitech Labs Announces Internet Radio Player

SHANGHAI, China, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Diversitech Labs announces a new low cost internet radio player device for consumers.
Capable of streaming music or talk radio from thousands of free-to-air or ad-supported radio stations from anywhere in the world to your hi-fi stereo via your broadband connection, the DB100 is a revolutionary new approach to global radio listening at a very affordable price-point. A PC is not required to use the DB100.
The unit acts as a receiver box, retrieving a list of compatible net radio channels from an ever growing database, and then displaying the choices in an easy-to-use remote controlled interface organized by genre and category. The user selects their station and the audio is sent out to their stereo, TV or home theatre system.
The low cost of the unit is partially achieved by utilizing the owner's television set to display its interactive menus, and the owner's home audio system to output the sound. A selection of visualizations including blackout and picture viewing can be rendered to the TV screen while the music is playing. These features make this an ideal addition to a living room or bedroom entertainment system.
In addition to streaming audio from the internet, the DB100 can also play shared MP3 or WMA tracks from any PC on the home network.
The new Diversitech internet radio player is based on a single chip dual core DSP from NXP Semiconductors: Nexperia PNX8706 designed for connected living applications.
