Advanced American Telephones, which manufactures AT&T-branded telephones under a brand license agreement with AT&T, today introduced a new 5.8 GHz cordless phone system that links with Bluetooth®-enabled cell phones to receive cellular and landline calls, both with the sound quality and convenience of a landline phone system. The EP5632 with Bluetooth technology headlines the 2007 AT&T line-up of high-performance 2.4 and 5.8 GHz cordless phone systems.

Pioneering System with Bluetooth Technology

The new AT&T EP5632 is an innovative 5.8 GHz cordless phone system that enables connectivity with up to eight different Bluetooth devices. With this technology, consumers can use the EP5632 handset to answer calls that ring to one of two registered Bluetooth devices within range of the base station. For example, an incoming call to a user’s cellular phone can be answered by the EP5632 handset to maximize the convenience of the landline handsets around the home. A Bluetooth wireless headset can also be utilized for hands-free conversations during landline calls.

In addition to these advanced features, the EP5632 is expandable, with up to 12 EP5632 handsets requiring only one phone jack, and uses Digital Spread Spectrum technology to provide users with enhanced audio performance, security and range. The full color, 65K graphical display handset comes with image wallpaper, pre-set musical ring tones, recordable ring tones and a speakerphone.

“Priced under $150, the new AT&T EP5632 with Bluetooth technology will be one of the most affordable options available that combine cordless and cellular capabilities,” said Matt Ramage, vice president, product management, at Advanced American Telephones. “Users can now conveniently make and answer all their wireless or landline calls at home to take full advantage of their calling plans, while benefiting from the comfort and sound quality of using a landline handset anywhere in the house.”

Affordably Priced with Advanced Features

In addition to the EP5632, three new cordless phones round out the 2007 AT&T product line-up. The new E6013B is a sleek triple-handset 5.8 GHz phone answering system featuring a large full-color display and 10 pre-set wallpaper images. The E2912B is a two-handset 2.4 GHz cordless phone system that is affordable, yet fully loaded, with a color display and a simultaneous off-hook feature enabling more than one system handset to be active on a call. Finally, AT&T-branded phones enter the analog 5.8 GHz market with the E5812B, a well-designed cordless phone system with handset-to-handset call transfer and selectable ring tones. These full-featured phone systems offer digital answering systems, caller ID and handset speakerphones.

The new AT&T-branded product line will be on display at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 8-11, 2007 in the Florentine Ballroom at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino. The new AT&T phones can be purchased at major retail outlets and online at www.telephones.att.com in May 2007.
