ASSET's ScanWorksAPI Easily Integrates JTAG Test Into NI's LabView, TestStand and Others

Posted on: Tuesday, 17 August 2004, 06:00 CDT

Suite of Virtual Instruments (VI), DLL interface serve as boundary scan infrastructure for test executives

With no prior knowledge of JTAG test, ASSET InterTech's ScanWorks(R) boundary scan test application environment can be easily and quickly integrated into custom test executives developed with tools such as National Instruments' (NI) LabView and TestStand.

A suite of Virtual Instruments (VI) and a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) interface in ScanWorksAPI eases the integration of ScanWorks tests into test executives, including those that were created for Windows(TM)-based systems using tools like Agilent Technology's VEE(TM), LabWindows/CVI(TM), Visual Basic, C++ and others.

ASSET InterTech Inc., (www.asset-intertech.com) is an international leader in boundary-scan (IEEE 1149.1/JTAG) test and in-system programming (ISP). ASSET's easy yet powerful ScanWorks boundary-scan test and ISP environment is currently used by leading electronics companies such as Cisco, Lucent Technologies, Agilent, BAE, Hewlett-Packard, Ericsson, Intel, Raytheon, Solectron, Rockwell Collins, EMC and others.

"We really liked the ScanWorks user interface, but for the sake of consistency we wanted all of our users to have the same interface for test, and that is TestStand," said Milos Obradovic, test design engineer at Alcatel, a leading equipment provider to the telecommunications industry. "All of our test operations, such as functional test, system test and others use TestStand. We've been able to integrate ScanWorks into TestStand and our overall experience with ScanWorks has been very good."

ScanWorksAPI is available now from ASSET's direct sales force and global network of resellers. It is included at no charge as a feature with all ScanWorks development stations. The affordable ScanWorks JTAG system begins at as little as $6,000 on a limited-term license. Standard and network licenses are also available, ensuring flexible pricing options and low cost of ownership.
