MEXICO CITY, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Mexicana de Aviacion, the leading airline in Mexico, announced today the launch of their new Internet site. The site is not only more efficient but also designed for customers in both Mexico and the rest of the world so that they can be part of the Mexicana experience. The site offers reservation services and ticket and national VTP purchasing and also provides different service options and useful information for its users.
Based on customers needs, mexicana.com has implemented a new and efficient sales method, easy access and reliable service:
* Mexicana.com has the ability to display the selected travel dates and flights as well as three days prior and three days after in the same screen * Customers can then select the most economic option or the one that best suits their traveling needs according to the dates and times displayed
With this added functionality, Mexicana is the first and only airline in Mexico to offer its customers this practical approach in its web site, which responds to the high daily transaction demand that represents close to 12% of its direct sales.
Mexicana's innovative web site is characterized by being a very interactive and friendly internet site that allows customers a simple way of purchasing tickets and obtaining information on the latest promotions, exclusive fares and attractive deals.
In addition, the content of the site has been reorganized in a way that customers can easily find information about Products; Promotions; Distinguished Clients (exclusively for clients who belong to Mexicana's loyalty program); Corporate Information, Executive directory and Sales Offices listings. There is also a section with essential information that customers should be aware of while preparing for their flight, such as special required documents and security regulations. Within the offered online services other than reservations and sales offered, customers have the possibility to retrieve their invoices and print their domestic flight boarding passes. Furthermore, customers can also obtain flight status, itineraries, pay previously generated reservations, redeem miles and access our online customer service.
This project was developed in accordance to Web based standards such as HTML, XML, Java, J2EE and Web Services; and uses cutting-edge technology such as Spring and Struts Frameworks. The multi-layered architecture of the site benefits from the server being infiltrated with Oracle (OAS10g) applications, which are configured with the highest available scheme guaranteeing service to its users. It also has a balanced layout that allows a uniform distribution of the website, delivering a better performance even with high volume access.
The way the Website is structured makes possible to have the integration of different internal and external systems, thanks to its services-oriented architecture (SOA), which aims to provide a better variety of online products and services.
Currently Mexicana is the only airline in Mexico who has developed a web site with these characteristics, and Mexicana becomes a part of a select group of world-renowned airlines that offer this service. The site offers effortless navigation with a user-friendly consistent interface, allowing an interaction that results in customer satisfaction in one brief session.
With this initiative, Mexicana de Aviacion continues to be at the forefront and uphold its leadership position through its modern and innovative Internet site that offers the efficiency and personalized attention that its customers expect.
