Cypress Names Jeff Osorio VP Corporate Controller; 25-Year Industry Veteran Responsible for Cypress's Operations Finance

Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) today announced the appointment of Jeff Osorio as vice president, corporate controller, reporting to Manny Hernandez, chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration. Osorio is responsible for the financial management of Cypress's corporate accounting, including its manufacturing and operations groups.

In addition to Cypress's three manufacturing sites and its general accounting operations, Osorio is responsible for Cypress's four product lines comprising its Memory Products Division, Datacommunications Division, Personal Communications Division and Timing Technology Division.

"Jeff Osorio comes to Cypress at a very important time when its products lines are at record highs in unit shipments," said CFO Hernandez. "In addition to his 25 years of finance experience in the high-tech industry, his focus on operations finance -- specifically in forecasting and planning -- will be beneficial for this position during this high-volume shipping period. Cypress will also leverage Osorio's expertise in streamlining financial processes to become more efficient from the backend to the decision stage."

Prior to Cypress, Osorio held senior financial positions at Silicon Graphics, Crystallume and Spectra-Physics Lasers. Most recently, Osorio was the vice president of finance operations at Silicon Graphics, responsible for global planning, reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting and internal management reporting. Osorio received his B.S. in Accounting and MBA from Santa Clara University.
