Cheryln Chin Joins Motorola to Lead Software Market Development for Handset Business

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Motorola, Inc. announced that Cheryln Chin has been named corporate vice president of software market development for Motorola's Personal Communications Sector (PCS). In this new position, Chin will be responsible for marketing and driving the adoption of software, building the software developer community and leading the company's work on industry software standards in its mobile handset markets.

Prior to joining Motorola, Chin successfully drove high-volume deployments of Java in the wireless and consumer markets in various leadership positions including sales, OEM licensing, business development and software consulting practices at Sun Microsystems. Chin was most recently vice president of global sales operations for Sun. She brings more than 19 years of experience with technology organizations, including General Magic, Boole & Babbage and IBM Corporation.
Chin holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Mary's College of California.
