VisualMED Offers Personal Electronic Medical Record for the Internet

Posted on: Wednesday, 24 January 2007, 12:00 CST

VisualMED Clinical Solutions Corp. (the "Company") (NASDAQ OTC BB: VMCS) has reached a preliminary agreement to provide a series of medical information modules to support a subscriber-accessible Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that will be available to the public on the internet. VisualMED medical modules will be incorporated into a Personal Health Informatics System (PHIS) to bring the first ever Web-based interactive EMR to market. The Company is selling the Internet rights to these modules to Baraka Holdings Ltd. (Montreal, Quebec), a company formed to provide web-based medical tools for the general public over the internet.

The Company will be paid a fixed amount of $3 million for these rights including an advance of $1.2 million against future royalty payments. "We expect this deal to be worth as much as 6 to 10 million per year in recurring revenues," says VisualMED Chairman Gerard Dab. "We believe there will be a real demand for web based medical support to consumers and we certainly supply some of the best tools available."

According to IT Facts (http://www.itfacts.biz), spending on healthcare information technology will reach nearly $280 billion by 2008, of which the Internet is the fastest growing segment. This includes spending by private citizens and institutions. These figures suggest an enormous increase in demand for effective solutions to help people manage their own health issues.

"Through agreements such as this, VisualMED intends to play an active role in providing these solutions to the internet community, and expects that this initiative will help us double our revenues in calendar 2008," says Gerard Dab.

There is a growing market for this service, as recent studies suggest the third largest area of inquiry on the internet is personal-health related. The subscriber-accessible EMR contains healthcare information maintained by the medical record subscriber but also supports automated data transfer originating from any health care provider. "This solution will empower people who want to better monitor their health outcomes," continues Mr. Dab.

"Marketing of this service will be carried out through alliances with existing internet portals," says Raphael Guilleminot, Marketing Director for Baraka Holdings. "Revenues will be generated by subscription for additional services, as well as by advertising."
