Gemstar-TV Guide Signs License Agreement With PRESENTCAST INC., A Joint Venture of Leading Broadcasters and Advertising Agencies, in Japan

Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMST), a leading media, entertainment and technology company, has signed a license agreement with PRESENTCAST INC., for its TV program navigation and online video portal Web site in Japan, DOGATCH (http://dogatch.jp). Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
PRESENTCAST INC. is a joint venture formed in April, 2006 by the leading broadcasters and advertising agencies in Japan. They include: Nippon Television Network Corporation., TOKYO BROADCASTING SYSTEM, INCORPORATED, Fuji Television Network, Inc., TV Asahi Corporation, TV TOKYO Corporation, DENTSU INC., Hakuhodo DY Media Partners Incorporated, ASATSU-DK INC. and Tokyu Agency Inc. PRESENTCAST INC. launched the DOGATCH service (http://dogatch.jp), in December 2006 to help navigate TV information and promote distribution of TV and TV related content via the Internet.
Interactive Program Guide (IPG), Inc., Gemstar-TV Guide's joint venture with DENTSU INC. and Tokyo News Services Limited in Japan, has worked with PRESENTCAST to develop a syndicated version of G-GUIDE, Gemstar-TV Guide's interactive program guide service in Japan currently available to the users of the DOGATCH site.
