HP introduces home electronics in fall product lineup
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) - HP, the world's second largest computer maker, on Friday introduced a number of consumer products including TVs in unveiling its fall product lineup for the Christmas season.
HP's TV products include a 42-inch flat-panel plasma TV, a 32- inch LCD TV and a 26-inch LCD TV, all in a sleek, paino-black design.
The computer maker also unveiled its Digital Entertainment Center, which it says brings high-powered PC capabilities to the home theater system, allowing consumers to easily capture, store and enjoy all of their digital content - TV programs, music, videos or photographs - in a living room setting.
HP said the Digital Entertainment Center replaces multiple components with a single, easy-to-operate device that fits in the entertainment rack and is simple to use with a remote control.
Another home product from HP is a Media Center Extender, which delivers content wirelessly from any Media Center PC or the HP Digital Entertainment Center to any TV in the house, giving users the freedom to enjoy their content when and where they want. HP also announced the availability of two Apple iPod clones from HP. Produced under a strategic partnership with Apple, iPod clones from HP will be offered in two variations - 20 GB and 40 GB. In other product lines, HP introduced new printers, printing paper and ink, digital cameras and notebook computers.
