Technology Council of Southern California Extends Deadline for 2007 Technology Industry Awards to February 9

TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The Technology Council of Southern California, http://www.tcosc.org/, today extended its deadline for nominations for the organization's thirteenth annual Technology Industry Awards. The nominations must be received by Friday, February 9, 2007. The awards, formerly known as the Software Industry Awards, are presented to individuals and companies that have made extraordinary contributions to the growth of Southern California as a center for technological innovation.
The nominees for the 2007 event will compete for one of seven awards, two individual categories and five company categories, as listed below:
Individual Categories: * CEO of the Year * Entrepreneur of the Year Company Categories: * Network/Security Company of the Year * Hardware/Storage Company of the Year * New Media/Entertainment Company of the Year * Mobile Company of the Year * Software Company of the Year
Nominees do not need to be a member of the Technology Council, but must be headquartered in Southern California. Full details of the nomination process and award criteria can be found on the Technology Council Web site, http://www.tcosc.org/awards/index.html.
Category winners from the 2006 Awards include CEO of the Year, Mitch Lasky, formerly of JAMDAT (now EA Mobile); Entrepreneur of the Year, Matt Coffin, LowerMyBills.com; Software Developer of the Year, Accruent, Inc.; Software Company of the Year, Epicor Software Corporation; Software Services Company of the Year, Make It Work, Inc.; and Internet Company of the Year, PriceGrabber.com.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner ceremony, black-tie optional, to be held March 7, 2007 at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. PST.
