AT&T Nets Voice and Data Services Contract With Judson College

Posted on: Wednesday, 31 January 2007, 15:00 CST

AT&T has secured a new optical and data networking services contract with Judson College, a Christian liberal arts college in Elgin, Illinois, to upgrade the college's network infrastructure for campus-wide connectivity.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will be the primary voice and data services provider for Judson College and will implement a synchronous optical network ring, as well as managed internet service, for an improved communications network across the college's campus.

This will support the addition of a new library on campus and will fulfill Judson College's need to accommodate additional network capacity by bundling all of the college's network connections on one continuous optical fiber structure. It will also provide high-speed internet access through IP-backed facilities managed by AT&T.

"The optical networking services will not only support our new library and data center but will help us enhance our entire communications network so that we can support additional technologies in the future and continue to improve the educational experience for our students," commented Steven Dutcher, Judson College's vice president of information technology.
