Five Charged With Trafficking

FIVE Indonesians were charged yesterday with trafficking a whopping 90kg of cannabis with a street value of RM126,000.

Labourer Sofyan Abdullah, 33, unemployed Azahari Mohd Nor, 25, store assistant Fitriadi Lutan, 28, unemployed Muhammad Faiz, 31, and grocery store owner Usman Hassan, 45, were charged at the Petaling Jaya magistrate’s court with trafficking the drugs at Jalan Persiaran Perdana, Bandar Sri Damansara, at 11.15pm on Jan 17.

Deputy public prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin applied for the case to be transferred to the Shah Alam High Court.

No plea was recorded.

Magistrate Azroul Hisham Azulan set March 2 for mention of the case.
