Array Networks Launches Beta Availability of First Site-to-Site SSL VPN Solution
Posted on: Monday, 5 February 2007, 09:00 CST
At the RSA Conference, Array Networks Inc., a leading provider of optimized and secure universal access solutions, today announced the beta availability of the first site-to-site SSL VPN solution. Commencing this month, multiple enterprises will start beta trials of the new Site2SiteTM solution. Array is offering the first public demonstration of its new Site2SiteTM solution at Booth 2237 at the RSA Conference in San Francisco this week.
"The market for network security devices continues to grow at a healthy pace. VPNs and specifically site-to-site IPSec VPNs currently make up a large portion of this market," said Jeff Wilson, Principal Analyst, Network Security of Infonetics. "SSL VPNs are already broadly accepted for remote access, and products like Array's Site2Site make SSL a viable alternative to IPSec for site-to-site as well." Infonetics estimates that the overall market for security devices and software was estimated at over $4 billion in 2006 and is expected to reach $5.7 billion by 2009.
Array's site-to-site solution introduces Resource PublishingTM, which offers a more secure and flexible alternative to IPSec VPNs. Resource Publishing enables companies to establish an encrypted, bi-directional connection on demand between different sites or locations using SSL VPN tunnels over any IP network or the Internet. This allows specific network resources (i.e., applications, networks, printers, etc.) to be "published" to other peer locations for limited access by specific users and/or user groups, which provides enterprises with finer grain access control than is available using IPSec..
"Our Site2Site SSL VPN solution is generating significant interest," said Jim Greenway, Vice President of Marketing for Array Networks. "This product meets the needs of the worldwide enterprise market for both green field deployments and replacement of site-to-site IPSec VPNs."
Companies around the world are rapidly expanding office network access and are widely adopting SSL VPN technology as a replacement to traditional IPSec VPNs for secure, remote access. Until now, an IPSec VPN was the only choice for a site-to-site IP VPN. Compared to IPSec, Array's new Site2Site solution combines the secure tunneling capability of a site-to-site VPN with the increased security, fine grain access control, hidden internal networks, and reduced administrative burden and cost of SSL VPN.
