AdMob Hires Former Facebook Vice President of Engineering T.S. Ramakrishnan
AdMob, the world’s largest mobile advertising marketplace, has further strengthened its executive team with the addition of T S Ramakrishman, a veteran technology architect whose innovations have powered the likes of Facebook, Skype, Yahoo!, and Oracle.
“From communities to communication, T S has done it all,” states AdMob Founder and CEO Omar Hamoui. “T S is uniquely suited to lead our technology team during this phase of dramatic growth. At Yahoo!, Skype, and Facebook, he developed a proven track record of building highly scalable and dynamic systems, and now AdMob will benefit from the skill and passion he brings to every challenge.”
Most recently, Mr. Ramakrishnan was Vice President of Engineering for Facebook, where he oversaw the build out of the site’s architecture, built up a talented product engineering team, and managed a technology rollout that expanded Facebook beyond its college-age community. As part of the original development team for Yahoo! Messenger, he launched the first version of the platform and managed the team tasked with developing and releasing the popular instant messaging client in over twenty countries. Ramakrishnan also oversaw the extension of Yahoo! Messenger to mobile platforms, an early revolution in PC-to-mobile communications, and one he now plans to bring to the realm of mobile advertising.
“By building a platform that is rich in data analysis and reporting, we aim to provide our clients with a complete understanding of the mobile environment and its users,” says Ramakrishnan. “We’re going to streamline the whole process for publishers and advertisers alike, and add new reporting systems to track performance, ROI, optimization, targeting and campaign best-practices in a way that makes everything easy and comprehensive at the same time.”
Hamoui agrees. “These changes will cement AdMob’s place as the authoritative source on mobile advertising data and industry trends.”
