Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, one of the richest men in Poland, said that he was thinking of acquiring TV Biznes, a business news channel. Solorz-Zak said that a company he was cooperating with was in talks to buy the channel. He denied a report in the Rzeczpospolita newspaper Wednesday that Polsat, the TV broadcaster he controls, would buy TV Biznes. “Polsat isn’t running any talks concerning the TV Biznes acquisition,” he said. But the broadcaster may spend up to 100 million zloty, or $33.6 million, to buy other thematic channels or set up new ones, he added. Solorz-Zak is selling a 25.1 percent stake in Polsat to Axel Springer, the biggest European newspaper publisher, to benefit from the German company’s experience in media markets. TV Biznes is controlled by Piotr Chomczynski, the U.S.- based biochemist who founded the company. – Katarzyna Klimasinska
