SyncCast(TM), a digital media technology company and leading Content Delivery Network, worked with Microsoft to greatly improve the download music aspect of the Walmart.com site using Windows Media Player 10 and Microsoft .NET technologies to provide a better user experience for online music services.
Music fans using Windows Media Payer 10 and visiting Walmart.com are assured of a superior experience since SyncCast embedded the music experience within the Windows Media Player 10. SyncCast added FAST sorting and browsing via a custom on screen tool that provides a list of the artists' works. SyncCast also enhanced the Download Manager used by Walmart.com to make it easier for downloads to be resumed and for customers to know the status of downloads.
"While many of the companies we work with build significant aspects of their site, they often incorporate a rich mix of technologies and systems on the backend. SyncCast uses Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 and the .NET Framework to create tools that leverage all these components to create a seamless user experience," states Lance Ware, CEO/CTO for SyncCast(TM).
"SyncCast has built a great consumer experience with Walmart.com Music Downloads for music fans using the new Windows Media Player 10 that makes it faster and easier for consumers to discover, download, play and transport their digital media," states Erin Cullen, lead product manager in the Windows Digital Media Division at Microsoft Corp. "SyncCast continues to be a leader in this space providing innovative solutions for their customers using Microsoft technology."
SyncCast(TM) also developed www.billboardradio.com, for VNU eMedia. The online music show integrates years of artist and news data from the company's database into a rich online experience. SyncCast(TM) was able to create a complete user experience in the Windows Media Player by using a feature known as HTML-View.
"The best thing about building our solution on the Windows Media platform is that users will immediately benefit from new Windows Media Player 10 features without us having to invest additional resources," states Sam Bell, Director of Business Development for VNU eMedia.
