SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sunrise Telecom Incorporated , a leading provider of service verification equipment for telecommunications and cable TV networks, today unveiled its newest additions to the industry leading SunSet MTT platform -- Optical Channel Monitor (OCM) modules for CWDM and DWDM networks.
"The Optical Channel Monitors are intrinsic additions for our MTT family and its Metro Toolkit offering," said Cyrille Morelle, Director of Product Marketing, Access Technologies. "With the explosion of metro service installations, we saw the need for a low cost alternative to optical spectrum analyzers for field technicians deploying these services."
The OCM Modules provide key measurements including lambda, power, and OSNR. They also include advanced features such as power and lambda drift detection and editable channel tables. The modules are user-friendly yet encompass a complete set of features.
Combined with Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and Fiber Channel modules, the new OCM module series provides the complete Metro Toolkit for installing tomorrow's access networks today.
With more than 30 different test modules shipping, the SunSet MTT platform is the world's most complete modular testing platform, generating significant user advantages in reducing workforce training, reducing test set acquisition costs, and streamlining capital tool administration. This proven field-upgradeable, rugged, and yet compact field set provides a unique reference for copper, fiber, and metro testing -- and supports far more technologies than competitive products.
The Optical Channel Monitor modules, along with the SunSet MTT family, will be demonstrated at ECOC 2004 (September 6 - 8, 2004) in Stockholm, Sweden, at the Sunrise Telecom booth #304,333.
