Mavenir Systems' Solution That Links Any Network and Any Device Introduced at 3GSM

Posted on: Monday, 12 February 2007, 09:00 CST

RICHARDSON, Texas and BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Mavenir Systems, an emerging network technology company, launched its mOne solution today at the 3GSM World Congress. Through mOne, wireless and wireline service providers can utilize their existing and next-generation networks to deploy multimedia seamlessly across mobile and fixed domains without investing in costly new infrastructure and expand their revenue opportunities. The solution is currently being utilized by leading service providers.

Where existing networks only serve the devices created for that platform, e.g. 2G devices on a 2G network, Mavenir's mOne provides independence between access and core domains. The result is an efficient, cost-effective method to offer multimedia services via myriad devices and move voice, audio and/or video sessions across domains and devices. Additional examples include:

* Service providers can utilize their 2G or 3G networks to provide Voice over IP or IMS services to their 2G and 3G devices. * Mobile operators can utilize their radio access network to share these scarce resources with other network providers. * Dual-mode WiFi and cellular devices can be served by any network using UMA or VCC compliant handsets. * Fixed operators would be able to offer mobilized broadband Video and VoIP to consumers, expanding their services in crowded mobile markets. * Consumers and enterprises will be able to control their services, choosing when, where and on what device they receive their voice, video and communication services.

"We're pushing next generation delivery to the forefront, and at the same time offering service providers new opportunities for growth and revenue that would otherwise be costly and difficult to execute in their current environment," said Pardeep Kohli, chief executive officer for Mavenir Systems. "Over the last few months, mOne has been successfully tested by several service providers, validating our go-to-market strategy."

New streams of revenue for service providers enabled by mOne include: * Home Zone - Mavenir enables the delivery of value-added residential services across communications and entertainment domains via a fixed broadband and/or WiFi connection for mobile, fixed phone and SIP phone communications. * Media Unleased & Controlled - Mavenir enables providers to give consumers control over delivery of video services across all available devices, mobile 2G/3G, WiFi, and broadband access devices. Service providers will be able to deliver enhanced video services, such as video on demand, broadcast TV and peer-to-peer video across all available communications devices, or expand across internet capable devices, allowing for convergence of visual services across mobile and IP domains. * Enterprise - Mavenir enables network service providers to offer management and control of mobile communications to enterprise owned systems, delivering a seamless experience across fixed and mobile domains. Technology capabilities offered to Mobile Network Providers: * Broadband VoIP - Mavenir enables mobile network providers to extend their mobile core consumer services to include VoIP offerings over fixed broadband, EVDO, UMTS, WiFi or WiMax access. Blending legacy network and IP/IMS capabilities, mobile network providers will be able to incrementally add IMS and SIP based services for 2G mobile devices as well as SIP devices, including support for video calls, presence and click-to-dial. * Total Mobility - Mavenir allows providers to deliver services across fixed and mobile access domains. Mavenir's Universal Mobile Access (UMA) or Voice Call Continuity (VCC) solutions support an innovative on-net IP to IP routing, as well as seamless integration with existing network components, UNC, MSC, etc. It also enables introduction of Fixed SIP devices with legacy mobile core, along with integration of mobility for UMA or VCC compliant handsets. * Mobile IMS Expanded - Mavenir enables providers to deliver advanced IMS services across all available mobile devices, 2G and 3G. Mobile providers will be able to deliver enhanced services, such as presence with Click-to-Dial across their communities, or expand across internet communities, allowing for convergence of service across mobile and IP domains.

The Mavenir Systems booth is located in Hall 2, Level 1, 2.1F67 at the 3GSM World Congress.
