ATLANTA, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) has launched Leader Connect-CBF, a Web-based, resume-matching service that will help churches find prospective ministers and ministers find places of service.
The Web portal was funded by a grant from the Lilly Endowment, which was awarded to the Network for Ministerial Excellence Matching Consortium (NEMEX), of which CBF is a member.
The Web portal was designed and developed by The Merge Computer Group, Inc. (MERGE) in Richmond, Virginia. MERGE utilized its signature User- Centered Development Methodology that kept CBF personnel involved and engaged throughout the design and development process. Ed Gooding, the President of Merge, commented that, "The strong, on-going collaboration between CBF's end- users and our developers ensured that we fulfilled all the business requirements of this system and implemented it on-schedule and within-budget."
"Our goal is to be a resource to churches by providing quality resumes for consideration by their search committees," said Clarissa Strickland, the Fellowship's associate coordinator for leadership development.
On the Leader Connect-CBF Web site, ministerial candidates can complete a detailed profile and submit a resume. Churches have the opportunity to submit position descriptions, including information on expectations and provisions. Leader Connect-CBF will automatically match qualified candidates with open positions, but Strickland will continue to review all information submitted through the Web site.
The Fellowship continues to offer consultation services for search committees and ministerial candidates.
"Ultimately, it is our prayer that this tool will help accomplish God's will in the lives of God's people," said Strickland.
For more information on the Fellowship's reference and referral services, contact Strickland at (770) 220-1635 or cstrickland@thefellowship.info.
CBF is a fellowship of Baptist Christians and churches who share a passion for the Great Commission and a commitment to Baptist principles of faith and practice. The Fellowship's mission is to serve Christians and churches as they discover and fulfill their God-given mission.
