Hingham Man Facing Child-Porn Charges
BOSTON – A Hingham man has been indicted on child pornography charges.
Philip Herzberg, 50, of 243 South St., was among three men charged after a year-long Internet sting operation, state officials announced said yesterday. He was charged with six counts of receipt of child pornography, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years for each count, up to a maximum of 20 years, and one count of possession of child pornography, which carries a sentence of up to 10 years.
Matthew Wilson, 28, and Donald Banker, 64, both of Methuen, were also indicted on charges of child pornography.
The men allegedly subscribed to and downloaded content from a Web site advertising hardcore child pornography. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigators monitored the site for two or three months between 2005 and 2006, and got search warrants in September.
Hingham police assisted in the investigation.
