POP Solutions Partners With C-Nario to Provide Interactive Digital Signage & Mobile Solutions

POP Solutions and C-nario announce their partnership to provide Interactive Digital Signage solutions. These innovative solutions which lead to direct advertiser and consumer dialogue will be publicly demonstrated for the first time at the Strategy Institute's prestigious Out-of-home Digital Networks Content Strategies and Awards Summit to be held in Las Vegas on February 21st. Digital dynamic signage -- large Out-of-Home video screens carrying content and advertising messages -- are becoming commonplace in shopping malls, transportation & sports venues and other public facilities. But now these video displays are synchronizing with mobile messaging technology to create an interactive channel that allows consumers to respond directly to their favorite brands.

C-nario, a provider of digital dynamic signage solutions to corporations throughout the world has teamed up with POP Solutions, a mobile marketing company with offices in Los Angeles and New York to create a joint system and service that enable a two-way dialog between advertisers and consumers. This blend of visual presentation and mobile communication raises the science of signage to new heights, transforming it into an open channel of information exchange and customer communication.

"Mobile marketing -- engaging consumers in promotions via their mobile devices -- has become an accepted marketing channel," explains Joe Gorelick, executive vice president of POP Solutions. "Consumers have gotten used to the idea of texting responses to advertising messages, such as voting for their favorites on American Idol or texting a code to enter a contest. But when merged with digital signage, mobile messaging takes on a whole new personality. It allows targeting consumers when they are only a few steps away from the store and most likely to buy. What's more, the customer responses inform advertisers of consumer shopping habits and preferences enabling them to alter the message on the video screens to adapt to those preferences."

These responses are immediate and bi-directional. For example, a woman at a mall sees a message on the C-nario based display screen announcing a sale at a shoe store and inviting her to text a response in order to win a discount coupon for that store. She texts her response and via POP Solutions' technology, a digital coupon is sent to her mobile device in the form of a bar code that can be scanned at the store's check out counter. At the same time, in conjunction with C-nario's and POP Solutions' integrated technologies, information is noted about her response, such as what part of the mall she was in when she saw the message, what time of day it was and which ad she responded to and whether a coupon or promotion was redeemed. The information is tabulated and lets the advertisers know which screens and which stores are getting the most action not to mention that specific customer information is being garnered too. The displays can then be altered and adjusted accordingly to maximize their effectiveness.

"After understanding that the new Digital Signage medium has been largely deployed in public venues and becomes more and more common, it was clear to us that it calls for a interactive mode, which will engage the viewers and call for action, so what is more suitable, affordable and available than personal cell phone?", says Eyal Rom, C-nario USA General Manger. But it doesn't end there. In addition to advertising, the screens can display games, contests, music and other content accompanied by a message prompting consumers to respond via their mobile devices. Someone who chooses to play a game for example, might receive a coupon for one of the mall's game stores, or someone who votes for a favorite rock group would receive a coupon for a music store. Such interactive games are an excellent tool to raise brand awareness and involve consumers in ongoing brand interaction.

"This technology isn't limited to shopping malls," says Gorelick. "It's used in sports venues, museums, corporate facilities, amusement parks and just about any public place you can imagine. Once the consumer responds, he/she has the choice to opt-in for additional promotion. Once opted-in, the advertiser can gather additional information and continue sending promotional messages, coupons and content."
