Discovery Communications Selects N2 Broadband to Support VOD Content Production

ATLANTA, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- N2 Broadband Inc., the leading provider of scalable, open-standard solutions for on-demand entertainment, today announced that Discovery Communications, the leading global real-world media and entertainment company, has selected N2 Broadband's Xport(TM) Producer to support its production of video-on-demand (VOD) content for the U.S. market. N2 Broadband's Xport provides cable operators, content providers and aggregators with easy-to-use tools to prepare and manage their own VOD content.

Using Xport, customers can perform "one-click" encoding, create CableLabs(R)-compliant metadata, edit content, insert ads and other video clips, and prepare content for distribution to VOD servers.
The Xport Producer is part of N2 Broadband's Xport Digital Media Solutions family of products for cable operators and content providers. Other products in the Xport family include:

* Xport Streamer - produces standard-definition and high-definition linear
