Extreme Networks Appoints Douglas Murray As Vice President and General Manager of Volume Products Group

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Extreme Networks, Inc. today announced that it is further executing on its planned business reorganization and has appointed Douglas Murray as Vice President and General Manager of the newly formed Volume Products Group. To focus on growth, Extreme Networks has completed the creation of three product groups: Volume Products, Scalable Products and Emerging Products; each aligned to meet customer needs with differentiated, industry-leading network technologies.
Leveraging 15 years of experience in the high technology and communications industry with market leaders such as AT&T, Murray will be responsible for developing and executing strategy, product development and business management for Extreme Networks' Summit(R) family of fixed configuration switches and the BlackDiamond(R) 8800 modular switching platform. These solutions provide highly reliable, converged and secure Ethernet networks for both enterprises and service providers.

Murray gained key management experience while with AT&T, where he held a number of senior management positions in sales and marketing, with business units and in IT capacities. Prior to joining Extreme Networks, he was with Sun Microsystems, where he oversaw Global Alliances for the Storage Division. In this role, he was responsible for Sun's Strategic Storage Technology OEM partners, Storage ISVs, partner marketing and business development. Prior to Sun, Murray was Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Sanrise Group, a global storage service provider (SSP).
