AT&T Selected to Provide Voice and Data Network Services to Hickman, Williams & Company

CINCINNATI, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. announced today that Hickman, Williams & Company, a premier supplier of products, services and technology to the global metals industry, has awarded AT&T a three-year contract to provide voice and data network services. The contract allows for seamless expansion as Hickman Williams continues to move its operations to and expand its use of the Web in its business.

Under the agreement, AT&T will provide a custom-designed highly available and highly secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. The solution uses Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology to prioritize network traffic and facilitate communication among 10 different locations in the U.S. and Canada. AT&T will offer proactive monitoring, reporting services and security to ensure that the network remains up and running at all times.

This managed Internet Protocol (IP) solution provides a flexible architecture to help Hickman, Williams & Company increase productivity, improve efficiencies and optimize costs. The solution also delivers greater functionality and flexibility than conventional voice and data services and paves the way for the company to deploy Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services in the future.
