Continental VisiNet Broadband / NET Telcos Enables Waterside Festival Marketplace With WiFi in Preparation for Sail Virginia Tourists and Sailors

Posted on: Tuesday, 27 February 2007, 12:00 CST

The Waterside Festival Marketplace, a Harvey Lindsay Managed Property, in Downtown Norfolk has added an indoor WiFi Hot Spot to its Central Food Court. The Hot Spot was deployed by Continental VisiNet Broadband, a division of NET Telcos, a local provider of Integrated Internet and Data Center Solutions.

Lane Brown, Waterside Property Manager, commented "Waterside is the heart of Downtown Norfolk and Harvey Lindsay wanted to add every amenity to this great tourist dining and retail destination in time for the upcoming Sail Virginia 2007 celebration."

The first in March is the Velux 5 Oceans solo circumnavigation sail around the world with Norfolk as its 2nd port of call. Sailors from around the world and their teams will stay in Norfolk hotels to rest and recover and stay connected with family and friends and media reporters. June's Sail Virginia 2007 Weekend will feature tall ships, tourists, re-enactments and a festival in honor of the 2007 Jamestown settlement that created Hampton Roads as Virginia's First Region.

"We are pleased to add this unique Hot Spot to our portfolio of over 300 Wireless Links managed in the Hampton Roads market," explained Danny Cullen, Regional Manager of NET Telcos. "As the area's leading provider of these services, we intend to expand the reach of our wireless networks and continue to enhance our additional suite of services which include connectivity, co-location and managed services to the businesses in Hampton Roads."

The Company also supports the Granby Street Free WiFi hot spot in Downtown Norfolk.
