Xilinx and Avnet at International IC China Conference & Exhibition 2007

SHENZHEN, China, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Xilinx, Inc. and Avnet Electronics Marketing today announced that they will jointly showcase their latest cost-effective, flexible programmable logic solutions to accelerate digital consumer and video processing designs at International IC China Conference & Exhibition 2007 in Shenzhen, China from March 5-6, 2007. Chinese design engineers can visit the joint Xilinx/Avnet booth to see live digital consumer and video processing demonstrations based on the Xilinx 65nm Virtex(TM)-5 multi-platform FPGA family; 90nm Spartan(TM)-3 generation of low-cost, high-volume FPGA families; and CoolRunner(TM)-II low-power, low-cost CPLD family. Tradeshow visitors can also attend two seminar presentations on digital consumer electronics and embedded systems presented by Xilinx divisional heads based in China.

DataGATE disables unused input pins, reducing power consumption -- almost 99 percent lower than traditional low power CPLDs! In all, DataGATE enables CoolRunner-II CPLDs to be a small fraction of the system power consumption -- no other CPLD has this capability. * Smart handset platform: Demonstration focuses on the methodology used to quickly incorporate new features while meeting stringent power consumption, size, and cost requirements of the dynamic converged handset market. The demonstration will also feature a low-cost 1-lane IP solution for PCIe-PIPE endpoint implemented in a Spartan-3 FPGA -- in an add-in card form factor and compliance certified at PCI-SIG Plugfest #45.
