SPOKANE, Wash., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Time Warner Telecom Inc., , a leading provider of managed voice and data networking solutions for businesses, today announced the successful installation of a 10-site MPLS-based IP VPN service for Inland Northwest Bank of Spokane. Time Warner Telecom’s IP VPN supports Inland Northwest Bank’s headquarters, including its main branch and data center, as well as nine additional branches located in Washington State and Idaho.

“We wanted to implement a solution where the protocol would be relevant a decade from now,” said Stan Anderson, IT administrator for Inland Northwest Bank. “Time Warner Telecom’s MPLS-based IP VPN service is a modern protocol that will serve us over the long term. With this new network in place, we can roll out additional services, such as VoIP, to our branch offices.”

“Previously, I had to physically go to the branch offices to complete IT admin services because the bandwidth was simply too low to do it remotely,” explained Anderson. “With our new IP VPN network, I will be able to perform those duties remotely, which will allow me to save the company about three labor-months, or 25 percent, each year.”

Time Warner Telecom’s IP VPN networking solution is highly secure and scalable, enabling employees centralized access to customer data and the ability to create document images remotely to speed financial transactions. This dynamic IP VPN solution provides for the seamless re-routing of network traffic to the bank’s other facilities in the event connectivity to the main server goes down, ensuring business continuity.

The installation and turn-up of the new network was very efficient according to Anderson. “Employees at our main branch for example, didn’t even notice that we had switched over,” added Anderson. “It was a clean turn-up, which saved me a lot of headaches.”

“Inland Northwest Bank is one of the many financial institutions we serve that have a pressing need for secure networks to transmit sensitive customer data,” said Tom Newbury, general manager for Time Warner Telecom in Spokane. “Our state-of-the-art MPLS-based IP-routed network protects private data while delivering accessibility and flexibility to businesses with multiple locations.”
