WestCAT Seeks Feedback on New Wi-Fi Buses

Mar. 4–HERCULES — WestCAT seeks feedback from passengers who have tested its recently installed Wi-Fi system on Transbay "Lynx" buses.
"It’s still kind of in the baby stages," said WestCAT marketing coordinator Yvonne Morrow. "We’re asking people to try it out and surf the Web, check their e-mail, read the newspaper (online), pass the time."
One question mark is how the Wi-Fi system, which was installed in February, performs on the Bay Bridge, where dead spots might be expected to occur.
Comments can be made by phone to 510-724-3331 or online via the comment form on the WestCAT Web site at www.westcat.org.
Lynx buses run every 15 to 30 minutes during the weekday morning and evening rush hours between the park-and-ride lot on Willow Avenue and Interstate 80 at the Hercules-Rodeo line and the San Francisco Transbay terminal, with stops at Hercules’ Victoria by the Bay subdivision and the park-and-ride lot on San Pablo Avenue at John Muir Parkway in Hercules.
The one-way Lynx fare is $4. Discounted monthly passes are available. Schedules and other details are available on the WestCAT Web site.
WestCAT also operates local buses in northwestern Contra Costa County and express buses between Martinez and El Cerrito Del Norte BART via Hercules, Pinole and Richmond.
