Record-Breaking International IC-China Conference & Exhibition in Shenzhen to Feature 497 Booths -- Up 27 Percent Year-on-Year

HONG KONG, March 5 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Sources opened the first of its three-city International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China) at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The March 5-6 event is the largest-ever in Shenzhen, with 497 booths -- up 27 percent year-on-year, and 184 exhibitors -- up 11 percent year-on- year.

IIC-China is showcasing the latest products and solutions from the world's top technology companies. These include Analog Devices, Intel, Micron, Microsoft, NEC, NXP Semiconductors, Samsung, Texas Instruments and Toshiba.
Mark A. Saunderson, president of Global Sources' Electronics Business Unit, said: "Last year, over 12,000 design engineers, technical and procurement managers attended IIC-China in Shenzhen, up 16 percent from 2005. We expect record attendance again this year, not just in Shenzhen but at all IIC-China venues."

IIC-China Hosting Two New Events: Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards and Electronics Supply Summit
IIC-China in Shenzhen is also hosting the inaugural Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards and the first-ever Electronics Supply Summit.
Saunderson said: "Mainland China's electronics industry is heavily dependant on imported solutions. The ACE Awards recognizes companies that help mainland China's engineers develop more innovative electronics."
"The Electronics Supply Summit brings together leading distributors, software providers, and decision makers in testing and standards. They are expected to discuss supply trends, quality issues, technical support and more with senior executives and procurement managers from across mainland China."
Top IC Industry Executives to host IIC-China Summits and Seminar Program
The Summit Program plans to focus on the challenges and opportunities of going portable with senior managers from Infineon, Micrel and SigmaTel engaging in panel discussions.
Sessions are scheduled to be held tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Engineers can also learn about specific technologies at 40 Vendor Seminars hosted by Altera, Analog Devices, California Micro Devices, Freescale, Intel, Micrel, NXP Semiconductors, ON Semiconductor, Qimonda, Spansion, Texas Instruments and Xilinx.
