MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge Presents: Digital Living - Building Brands in the World of New Media

MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge

What: On March 14th, the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge will host discussions with four expert panelists at the cutting edge of digital media. These panelists will discuss the opportunities being created by a consumer-driven marketplace and how companies can tap them in order to reach new audiences. This session will provide a rare view into some of the central questions surrounding the challenges of adapting to and pioneering in this new digital environment.

Panelists:

Jeremy Allaire is the founder and CEO of Brightcove, an Internet TV service. Allaire leads the company's technology, marketing and business development strategy. Prior to founding Brightcove, Allaire worked as a technologist and entrepreneur-in-residence for venture capital firm General Catalyst, where he worked on companies and investments in broadband media, mobile content, e-commerce software and digital identity.

Eric Alderman is the founder and CEO of KickApps, a hosted platform that allows webmasters to quickly and easily deploy user-generated content and social networking functionality directly on their websites. Alderman has founded numerous software, telecommunications and semiconductor technology ventures including MeshNetworks (acquired by Motorola in 2005), Military Commercial Technologies, TeraNex and SkyCross.

Jeff Morris is the SVP for Broadband Strategy/Technology Development and Showtime Networks, Inc. Morris is a seasoned interactive entertainment industry executive with extensive experience in converging media.

Baba Shetty is the director of Media and Interactive at Hill Holliday. With a focus on emerging media, Shetty brings a unique perspective, having managed the Interactive unit of Fallon Worldwide, including the BMW, Nordstrom, Sony, Lee, Citi and United accounts.

The panel moderator will be Woody Benson, an investor at Prism VentureWorks. Benson primarily invests in digital living companies. He also focuses on mobile and on-demand business models.
