ATF Executes Search Warrants on Rollin' '30s Street Gang

Posted on: Friday, 9 March 2007, 00:00 CST

LOS ANGELES, March 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Federal agents and police from Los Angeles, Baldwin Park and Montebello began executing a dozen search warrants tonight on members of the Rollin' 30s Harlem Crips gang following an 18-month investigation into the gang's violations of state firearms and narcotics laws.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has been investigating the gang and its associates since late 2005. Last month, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Police Chief William Bratton identified the Rollin' '30s as one of the top 10 street gangs in the Los Angeles area.

"ATF's commitment to combat violent street gangs is clear," said Special Agent in Charge John A. Torres of ATF's Los Angeles Field Division. "Dismantling these gangs has a significant impact on our community and makes our neighborhoods a safer place for us all."

Assisting ATF with the search warrants were the Los Angeles Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Baldwin Park Police Department and the Montebello Police Department.
