Neon Software Inc. received CRN Test Center's highly coveted "Recommended Status" for its CyberGauge 6.0 in a product review entitled "Keeping Complex Computer Networks Up And Running," which appeared in the publication's September 6 issue.
Reviewer Marc Spiwak noted that computer networks are increasingly difficult to manage due to their heterogeneous nature but that "tools such as Neon Software's CyberGauge 6.0...can help solution providers and customers manage complex network resources effectively." Neon's solution received four out of five stars in both the "Tech Rating" and "Channel Rating" categories.
"To receive positive recognition of our software is an honor that we do not take lightly," said Craig Isaacs, President of Neon. "It is always a thrill to have our hard work validated by an independent source and CRN's review of CyberGauge 6.0 further certifies the importance of monitoring not only the network itself but the also the network devices that can potentially paralyze and cripple system bandwidth if not properly watched."
CyberGauge 6.0 makes monitoring, reporting and planning bandwidth requirements even easier. Users can automatically create utilization graphs as well as daily, weekly and monthly quality of service (QoS) and utilization reports. These reports allow network managers to verify the bandwidth usage claimed by their provider matches actual usage and provide actual usage as a basis to forecast future bandwidth needs. CyberGauge also monitors the status of a device and can notify the user if the device goes down, comes back up or hits a through-put threshold. CyberGauge works with any SNMP-enabled device, including routers, gateways, NAS, servers, printers and more.
Voted one of the top 10 "Hottest Tech Media" in Adweek's Technology Marketing 2003 Influencers Report, CRN is a magazine written for executives in the microcomputer reseller industry and keeps readers abreast of technological and business developments within the industry. The publication, with a total circulation of 117,500, serves a wide range of resellers, from VARs and VADs to more traditional members of the reseller community, such as dealers and retail stores.
