SecurityCoverage Announces Partnership With Iowa Telecom

Posted on: Tuesday, 13 March 2007, 12:00 CDT

SecurityCoverage, provider of fully managed, fully supported desktop security services, has signed an agreement adding Iowa Telecom to its partnership group of Internet Service Providers (ISPs), telecommunications and cable companies. Iowa Telecom, based in Newton, Iowa, provides telecommunications services to more than 435 communities across the state and will offer the SecureIT Plus Service from SecurityCoverage to the homes and businesses it serves.

"We are excited to bring this new, fully automated security service to our customers," said Jim Phipps, Director of Marketing at Iowa Telecom. "The superior performance and ease of use will enhance our customer's experience with the Internet."

"Iowa Telecom's model and dedication to providing a high level of customer service and value to its subscribers fits perfectly with our goal of delivering world class support and hands-free Internet security protection to computer users, " said Robert O'Dell, president and CEO of SecurityCoverage. "

SecureIT Plus from SecurityCoverage provides automatic protection against viruses, spyware, worms, browser hijackers and other malware, as well as the convenience of active management of Microsoft patches and other PC maintenance tasks. An online reporting system allows users to see security threats that have been detected and removed. Installation of the services, along with continuing technical support, is supplied to users by SecurityCoverage technology professionals.

"In-house IT departments provide the tools and the vigilance to protect corporate employees from security threats," explained O'Dell, who served as the Information Security Officer for a large insurance company before founding SecurityCoverage. "But users at home or at small businesses traditionally didn't have access to that level of support. They had to take their chances on their own, using retail products to combat the continuing flood of desktop security threats. We have put corporate-style security protection in a bottle for broadband consumers and provided a turnkey delivery platform and program for Internet service providers."

Phipps said: "Internet security deeply impacts the customer's experience when online and consequently affects customer satisfaction with our data service. However, people don't really think about security issues until they have a problem, so this solution provides an automatic protection that the customer doesn't have to worry about."

The Iowa Telecom agreement is another sign of escalating success for SecurityCoverage. Last week, the company was named "IT Service Provider of 2006" by the Technology Association of Iowa at the 2007 Prometheus Awards banquet. SecurityCoverage also recently reported revenue for the fourth quarter of 2006 grew 35 percent compared to the third quarter, and fourth-quarter revenue grew 475 percent compared to the same quarter in 2005. For the year, revenue rose 629 percent from the end of 2005.
