EZchip Technologies Ltd. (a subsidiary of LanOptics Ltd., NASDAQ:LNOP), a fabless semiconductor company providing high-speed network processors, today announced that ZTE Corporation has selected EZchip's NP-2 and NP-3 network processors for its next-generation Carrier-class platform. ZTE is a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions.
The ZTE IP products that utilize the NP-2 and NP-3 are targeting the aggregation, metro and core of the carrier network, as well as high-end enterprise networks, and are in various stages of development. ZTE is shipping several products for the high-end enterprise, carrier access and core based on EZchip's network processors.
EZchip's network processors feature high integration and flexible programming which are ideal for Carrier Ethernet products providing triple play services. Powerful packet processing and advanced traffic management enable customers to efficiently make use of their development investments and employ EZchip's network processors across multiple product lines.
As an important player in the world telecommunication device market, ZTE is expanding its influence in IP networks rapidly. "After the continuous 200% growth for two years," remarked Weipu Li, product director of ZTE's Datacom Division, "ZTE is in need of cooperation partners with equal ambitions in high-end IP networks. EZchip's challenge on the first-class network processors in both performance and integration has impressed us strongly."
"We are honored with the continued trust and support by ZTE," said Rob O'Hara, EZchip's Vice President of Sales. "The continued cooperation with ZTE that started with our NP-1c network processor and has expanded to the NP-2 and NP-3 demonstrates EZchip's commitment to continued delivery of market leading network processors."
