Paula Long Honored By Mass High Tech As One of the 2007 Women to Watch

Posted on: Wednesday, 14 March 2007, 09:00 CDT

EqualLogic®, the leading provider of enterprise-class iSCSI storage area network (SAN) solutions, today announced that Founder and Vice President Paula Long has been honored as one of Mass High Tech's 2007 Women to Watch. Long earned the accolade for her role in developing the company's award-winning product and successful business strategy, as well as her commitment to mentoring current and future engineers.

Long was one of 10 women that Mass High Tech's editorial staff and advisory committee said exemplified the best and brightest among women at the highest level of technology businesses in New England. Paula and the other honorees were celebrated at the fourth annual Mass High Tech Annual Women to Watch event last Thursday at Boston's Fairmont Copley Plaza.

More than six years ago, Long and EqualLogic cofounders Peter Hayden and Paul Koning recognized major shortcomings in how the IT industry dealt with storage. She also found an opportunity to apply concepts from other industries to solve those problems while simplifying storage management overall. The radically innovative product development overseen by Long at EqualLogic resulted in a new storage technology that has won a series of industry awards and has earned the confidence of thousands of customers. Most important, however, was Long's ability to build and inspire a product development organization that embodies her vision of committed people growing the company as a team.

"Paula cares deeply about the people who have delivered a wonderful product to our customers," said Don Bulens, president and CEO of EqualLogic. "She exhibits a can-do attitude that inspires all of us to achieve great things. To see Paula rewarded with her peers for her commitment to our company's success is a great joy for all of us at EqualLogic."
