Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC Corporation Expand Alliance

MUNICH and HANNOVER, Germany, March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at CeBIT Fujitsu Siemens Computers President and CEO Bernd Bischoff and EMC Corporation Chairman, President and CEO Joe Tucci announced a significant expansion of their strategic alliance to address new customer IT challenges. The two IT leaders will create new services frameworks for advanced data center architectures, as well as major collaboration for supporting technologies. Additionally, IT Product Services (ITPS), the services arm of Fujitsu Siemens Computers, has joined the EMC Authorized Services Network providing services for specific EMC midrange networked storage solutions sold in EMEA by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. This announcement marks the 10th anniversary of the partnership between Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC.

New elements of the expanded Fujitsu Siemens Computers and EMC relationship include:
* Fujitsu Siemens Computers IT Product Services (ITPS) division is now certified as a member of the EMC Authorized Services Network program. This enables Fujitsu Siemens Computers to deliver advanced EMC information infrastructure services which complement and enhance Fujitsu Siemens Computers' Dynamic Data Center capabilities. * Broad technology collaboration relationship to provide advanced integrated capabilities for Fujitsu Siemens Computers' FlexFrame(TM), BladeFrame(TM) and PRIMERGY (TM)computing platforms. The integration will focus on storage, management and protection technologies to deliver customers a complete suite of next-generation virtualized IT infrastructure. * Mutual collaboration in an expanded set of advanced solutions for SAP customers, based on Fujitsu Siemens Computers' unique FlexFrame(TM) technology. The combination of EMC and Fujitsu Siemens Computers technology, coupled with ITPS's proven services capability, offers customers a single, integrated solution with superior performance, availability and economics, and a clear, proven pathway to supporting demanding SAP environments * Integration of multiple offerings for Microsoft customers based on Fujitsu Siemens Computers advanced BladeFrame(TM) technology. The resulting combination offers a superior platform for the next generation of Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server and Exchange 2007. Fujitsu Siemens Computers' expanded BladeFrame(TM) platform, combined with ITPS's broad suite of consulting services, provides customers a solid path to exploiting the next generation of Microsoft technology in a cost-effective and predictable manner.

The announcement is a stamp of approval for ITPS, which was acquired by the leading European technology provider Fujitsu Siemens Computers in April 2006, and is the latest in a series of additional steps the companies have taken since the storage vendor alliance was forged back in 1997.
