FeedRoom Offers Corporations Powerful Alternative to Consumer Video Upload Sites
Posted on: Monday, 19 March 2007, 09:00 CDT
The FeedRoom, a leading provider of online video solutions for global corporations, government agencies and media companies, today unveiled Really Simple Upload (RSU), a powerful tool and service that allows companies to provide an "Internet video upload experience" while also possessing the authentication and measurement capabilities necessary for effective business communication.
RSU, which was unveiled at the opening of the Video on the Net conference in San Jose, opens up to companies the vast potential of creating on-line communities by incorporating user-generated content into their video strategy for internal and external communications. Employees, partners or outside audiences can easily upload original video content to corporate environments in the same way they have enjoyed at popular consumer destination sites.
As companies begin to incorporate user-generated content into those strategies, RSU provides what the video players of those destination sites do not -- the highest quality, control, branding and metrics.
"Online video is becoming pervasive in corporate environments and UGC is the next chapter to be explored, as it may be the single most effective way to date of creating community," said Bart Feder, CEO of The FeedRoom. "We've listened to our customers and believe RSU gives companies a next-generation tool that goes far beyond simply embedding a consumer upload site into their environment. That route gives them no sense of their audience and potentially opens them up to the litigation associated with many of these sites."
RSU, the latest addition to The FeedRoom's suite of online video services for corporations and media companies, works by allowing users to upload original content into The FeedRoom's, or the client's content management system, where it is then authenticated and approved for use. The content can then be branded and "skinned" to adhere both to the video requirements and look-and-feel of the corporate environment. From there, the content is available to the numerous distribution channels provided by The FeedRoom, including the ability to embed different clips into external Web sites, newsletters and blogs.
The audiences for which RSU is most applicable focus on two key areas:
Client environments in which companies can manage content from approved audiences for the purposes of internal communications, training, partner or customer testimonials, creative content or even group discussions and forums
Corporate or media end users that can upload content as part of contests or viral marketing campaigns designed to drive awareness or sales
RSU is currently being piloted by CMP Media, which is a customer of The FeedRoom. It is also being made available to all current and prospective customers as an addition to The FeedRoom's suite of end-to-end solutions.
"We look at the ability for our vendors to upload original content as the next natural step in creating a truly interactive online experience for our readers," said Chris Sullivan, Vice President, Managing Director of the ChannelWeb Network for CMP Media. "The RSU tool from The FeedRoom allows us to provide the online video upload experience that users are familiar with at consumer destination sites, but also receive the control and metrics we need for this to be an effective business tool."
The FeedRoom is currently exhibiting at the Video on the Net conference, March 19-22 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose. Please visit the company's booth (#1309-I) for more information, or email info@feedroom.com.
