CALGARY (CP) - A Calgary woman accused of second-degree murder in the death of her teenage daughter has been granted bail.
Aset Magomadova will be released after her sponsor, a member of St. James Anglican Church, puts up $10,000. One of the conditions of her bail is that she not have any contact with her disabled son.
Magomadova's sister, who helped bring the 36-year-old woman and her two children to Canada from Chechnya, has said the mother acted in self-defence.
Fourteen-year-old Aminat was found dead in the family's southeast Calgary home about three weeks ago.
