Bay Microsystems to Present at the OFC/NFOEC 100G Ethernet Systems, Applications and Enabling Technologies Workshop

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Bay Microsystems, Inc., the world's fastest growing network processor company, has been invited as a guest presenter and panelist at the forthcoming Optical & Fiber Conference 100G technologies workshop. The OFC/NFOEC 100G workshop, to be held in Anaheim, CA, will focus on 100G Ethernet technologies. Applications and architectures driving the need for 100G Ethernet will be defined, and used to outline the challenges that will need to be overcome. High-speed electrical and optical components and transmission technologies are being explored, and updates will be provided. The last part of the workshop will include a panel session with the audience discussing the hurdles that must be overcome to develop 100G Ethernet.

Specifically, Bay Microsystems will present design architecture tradeoffs for Network Packet Processing and Traffic Management elements in a 100G domain.
