CommuniGate Systems Announces Unique Portable Client Pronto! for Mobile Rich Media Internet Communications
Posted on: Wednesday, 21 March 2007, 12:00 CDT
CommuniGate Systems, the leader in scalable carrier-class Rich Media Internet Communications solutions, today announced another step towards the next generation of Internet Communications with it's debut of Pronto! user interface created with Macromedia Flash(R) from Adobe. Consumers and business users today are requesting powerful clients that are portable and secure while providing the features of a collaboration desktop client and converging voice and data. Pronto! delivers the solution to a long standing but previously unanswered demand in the marketplace -- the need for a fully-integrated, highly portable collaboration client that is both easy to manage and is highly secure. Users can access all forms of Internet Communications as well as all their stored data from business information to video and voicemail from any browser without installing software.
Pronto!, based on Adobe(R) Flex(TM) 2 rich Internet application framework, is a highly portable, secure, fast, and scalable Rich Media user client. Pronto! enables business productivity not found in yesterday's desktop or web clients in a highly secure low footprint client. Pronto! talks to the CommuniGate Pro Internet Communications platform via the XIMSS API (XML Interface for Messaging, Scheduling, and Signaling). This new API is revolutionary and opens the doors to rapid development of lightweight clients and interfaces with Web and XML skill sets. XIMSS will allow ISPs and Enterprises to design UIs, build portals, interface with Cable modems, or link to external applications and services with no need to use complex protocols.
"We are excited to see that CommuniGate Systems has embraced Adobe Flex 2 and Flash in the creation and delivery of its new Pronto! user interface," said Jeff Whatcott, vice president of product marketing at Adobe Systems, Inc. "Using Adobe's latest rich Internet application technology, CommuniGate is able to deliver an engaging user experience that can truly improve communications in business and consumer markets."
"We are seeing a changing tide in the way people communicate with IM and VoIP -- Pronto! delivers these tools in a way I think is just simply amazing. The foundation of business communications is certainly email, and it took nearly 10 years for that to settle, even after we built a new vocabulary or lingo around email technology. One of the best moves for us in years was to get Pronto! and integrate CommuniGate as part of daily operations, and not patching and holding back the flood of security issues with our past technologies," said Andreas Glocker, CEO of Fastmetrics.
"We are convinced that Pronto!, with its easy to use flash technology, combined with the scalable platform of CommuniGate Pro, helps us fulfill the needs of SOHO, corporate, and ISP customers. Without any local installation, Pronto! brings the latest groupware technologies right to every desktop regardless of your location at home, in the office, or in the internet cafe," said Thomas Tenzler, product manager, of Arvato Systems.
Pronto! Features:
-- Email -- Calendaring -- Contacts management -- Secure Instant Messaging -- VoiceMail Management -- RSS Feeds and management -- Portability to any Flash 9 Player on Windows, OSX, Linux -- Highly secure binary runs in memory space not browser cache
