New 2007 Chicago AT&T Yellow Pages (Published By R.H. Donnelley) Gives Residents, Visitors 'All-in-One' Guide to Life in the City

Posted on: Thursday, 22 March 2007, 09:00 CDT

CHICAGO, March 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With an abundance of things to do and see in Chicago, the 2007 AT&T Yellow Pages, published by R.H. Donnelley, is an excellent resource for anyone searching for information about the Windy City. Beginning this week, Chicago-area residents and businesses will receive more than 2.1 million new phone books and PLUS(TM) companion directories on their doorsteps.

The new Chicago directory contains a 140-page lifestyle guide that is helpful to residents and visitors alike. The guide includes various sections such as:

-- "Local Information and Attractions" - includes airport maps, theaters information and a Navy Pier Guide. -- "Shopping" - includes information about Michigan Avenue, Chicago and suburban malls. -- "Dining and Nightlife" - includes information on top-rated restaurants, music venues and a calendar of events.

"Our goal is to make the AT&T Yellow Pages more than a phone book -- we want it to be a resource for all Chicago residents and tourists," said Christine Birch, R.H. Donnelley regional marketing manager for the Chicago AT&T Yellow Pages. "Whether you are looking for information about the Shedd Aquarium or post office locations, the new Yellow Pages is a useful guide for a variety of needs in Chicago."

PLUS Companion Directories

Accompanying the Chicago Yellow Pages directories are the PLUS companion directories -- smaller versions of the larger Yellow Pages. The PLUS directories are perfect for use in cars, briefcases or by a second phone -- anywhere residents might want a second directory. All Chicago residences and businesses will receive this valuable companion product along with their metro directories.

Chicago Magazine Restaurant Guide

Chicago is a melting pot that celebrates food as an art form. With hundreds of restaurants from which to choose, R.H. Donnelley partnered with Chicago magazine again this year to provide a selection of the magazine's top- rated restaurants for people to patronize. The Chicago magazine restaurant guide is located in the "Dining and Nightlife" section of the Chicago AT&T Yellow Pages lifestyle guide.

"As the 'restaurant' heading is the most-used heading in the AT&T Yellow Pages, our restaurant guide is convenient because it categorizes restaurants by cuisine," Birch said. "The wide variety of restaurant choices has something for everyone -- for the first-time visitor or the fourth-generation Chicagoan. People can discover new favorites by simply browsing the AT&T Yellow Pages."

Internet Yellow Pages

In an effort to provide local residents with easily accessible information, whenever they need it, the Yellow Pages are also available online at CHICAGOLANDYP.com and YELLOWPAGES.COM. Now Chicago residents are able to find information fast and conveniently either online or in the print directory.

"Our goal is to provide information anyway, anytime, anywhere," Birch said. "The information is there, regardless of whether you use a print directory or an electronic version. It's just a matter of choice."

Recycle Outdated Directories

Residents are encouraged to recycle their outdated Yellow Pages once they receive its replacement. For information about where to recycle your outdated Yellow Pages, please visit the Chicago Recycling Coalition's Web site at http://www.chicagorecycling.org/.
