SAN FRANCISCO, March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile content delivery pioneer Mobileplay today launched eXpress It!(TM), a social networking service for cell phone users which allows them to create and share personal mobile web pages as easily as sending an email. The announcement was made at CTIA Wireless 2007 in Orlando, FL.
The free, advertising-supported community allows users, regardless of technical ability, to create mobile web pages for themselves or to share them with others simply by sending an email or an MMS picture message to their own phone number.
"Web 2.0 is all about being able to express your individuality online and share it with others," said Mobileplay's CEO James Ryan. "We wanted to provide that experience on mobile phones in a fun, super easy way that everybody could try. If you can compose or forward an email, you can create and share mobile web content with eXpress It! Mobile."
Mobileplay community members can also use a desktop PC tool to create more sophisticated web sites, including mobile blogs, photo galleries, party invitations, travel itineraries, to-do lists, etc. "The sky's really the limit," said Ryan. "We are making our service as flexible as possible and allowing our community to be creative in how they choose to use it."
Anyone interested in joining the community can visit http://www.mobileplay.com/ on either their phone or desktop browser to learn more. Once registered, users can create content on their phone, desktop PC or simply by sending an email to their own 10-digit phone number@mobileplay.com (e.g. 4155551212@mobileplay.com.) Mobileplay will do the rest, including resizing and reformatting photos and other content to work in different phone browsers.
