SUMMIT, N.J. March 26 /PRNewswire/ — Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computers, will keynote the 2007 CIO Conference at the Grand Summit Hotel on April 20 with an exciting discussion about how his innovations helped shape the computer industry.

Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist for the past three decades, Wozniak designed Apple’s first line of products the Apple I and II and influenced the popular Macintosh. For his achievements at Apple Computer, the Woz was awarded the National Medal of Technology by the President of the United States in 1985, the highest honor bestowed on America’s leading innovators.

In addition to the Woz, conference attendees will be treated to a second fascinating speaker. The Luncheon Speaker will be Mary Ann Davidson, chief security officer at Oracle Corp.

For the third year, the NJTC will name a CIO of the Year at the CIO Conference. This award is designed to recognize a chief information officer or an executive in an equivalent position for his/her innovation and creativity in planning and deploying their enterprise systems, future IT goals, management philosophy and service to the industry and community. The CIO of the Year will be chosen from one of three finalists: Greg Miller, senior vice president of IT at Advanced Health Media, Josefina Nash, director of Information Systems at Coriell Institute for Medical Research, and Kathy Tomasello-Meade, vice president of IT at Dale & Thomas Popcorn.

In addition to the two exciting speeches, and the naming of the CIO of the Year, there will be two panel discussions: “Security Management: The Importance of Strategic Security Planning” and “Mitigating Internal and External Risk.”

Indications are that the number one priority facing the IT Professional in 2007 is security. The 2007 CIO Conference will focus on strategic security planning with an exciting discussion about the management side of the topic. What is the role of the Chief Security Officer? What is the strategic value of IT Security? What is enterprise rights management space? These questions and many others will be explored in the panel discussions.

Network and learn with your fellow CIOs on April 20 at the Grand Summit Hotel, 570 Springfield Ave., in Summit.
