Hanley Wood Announces New House Plans Partnership
Posted on: Monday, 2 April 2007, 12:00 CDT
Hanley Wood and COBS Homes have joined to launch a state-of-the-art Cost-to-Build Tool, developed by COBS Homes.
"The single most-asked question by prospective custom home-building customers is 'How much will it cost me to build?'" according to Andrew Schultz, Hanley Wood Business Media Vice President for House Plans marketing. "While there are a number of estimating information sources and tools available, we believe the Cost-to-Build Tool is the most comprehensive, flexible and accurate service on the market."
Each Cost-to-Build estimate is customized to the house plan a customer is considering. For $29.95, customers enjoy a 30-day access to the Cost-to-Build Tool that enables them to enter all their preferences for materials and quality levels and get a real-time estimate of the impact on their budget. Then, they can make trade-offs (say to have butcher block counters instead of granite, or laminate flooring instead of hardwood) to stay within their budget or better estimate their construction loan needs. Other cost-to-build services require customers to choose an overall construction quality for the entire project. Customers want flexibility to choose exactly where they want to splurge and what they are willing to sacrifice. That is what this new service provides.
The power of the Cost-to-Build Tool comes from COBS Homes' expertise in building houses all over the country and accessing vast databases of real-time pricing to provide up-to-date estimates. Plus, a customized version of the tool is available for every one of the thousands of house plans found on eplans.com.
