Executive Software and Shavlik Technologies Announce Licensing Agreement to Provide Security Patch Management

Executive Software (www.executive.com), the industry leader in the development of systems management tools to enhance the speed and performance of Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Systems, and Shavlik Technologies (www.shavlik.com), a leading security products and services provider, have announced the signing of an OEM agreement to provide security patch management to its customer base.
As part of the agreement, Executive Software will integrate Shavlik's security patch management solution to create Patchkeeper, a patch management module being added to the Sitekeeper(R) systems management product family, allowing companies to assess patch compliance status on devices running Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows NT(R), Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Patchkeeper can be used as a stand-alone solution or as part of the Sitekeeper product suite.
"When our Sitekeeper systems management suite customers asked us to develop patch management functionality, partnering with Shavlik made perfect sense," said George Goodrich, Sitekeeper Product Manager of Executive Software. "Our new Patchkeeper module combines Sitekeeper's signature ease-of-use with the most accurate and reliable security patch technology on the market."
Sitekeeper automates computer systems management, performs hardware and software inventories, generates license reports, identifies missing patches, updates and service packs, and remotely installs software, patches and updates on machines on networks. Patchkeeper, using Shavlik's technology, will be used to provide users the ability to install missing patches, updates and service packs that are missing on computer networks.
