DMGI to Offer Video Content Via Amazon Unbox

Posted on: Thursday, 5 April 2007, 15:00 CDT

Digital Music Group has announced that it will begin offering its television and film content through Amazon Unbox, a video download service from online retailer Amazon that launched in September 2006.

The Amazon Unbox video download service offers thousands of movies, television shows and other videos for download to PCs and any Windows Media Video-compatible portable device.

The agreement with Digital Music Group (DMGI) will significantly expand the offerings available through this service as DMGI currently controls the digital distribution rights to more than 4,000 hours of video content.

Amazon Unbox also represents the latest in a growing list of digital video services added to the DMGI distribution network, which also includes YouTube, Apple's iTunes store, Google Video, and In2TV, among others.

"We are very excited to be working with Amazon.com," said Mitchell Koulouris, CEO of DMGI. "This agreement will help bring DMGI's quality video content to the millions of loyal Amazon customers around the world."

DMGI is planning to make its video catalog available to Amazon Unbox starting in summer 2007.
