Votech Students Win Skills Medals
HANOVER – Ten students from South Shore Regional Vocational Technical High School won medals at the Skills USA District Competition and will go on to Marlboro to compete in the state championships April 26 to 28.
About 750 students from the 12 vocational schools participated in the all-day district competition at Upper Cape Regional High School earlier this month.
Alex Moreno of Norwell held on to his gold medal in precision- machine technology. Last year, he went on to win a silver in the national competition.
The other South Shore medalists were:
GOLD
Halifax – Sean Levesque for electronics technology.
Hanover – Garrett Marr for auto-service technology and Colleen Dyken for graphic communications.
Rockland – Joseph Molineaux for welding.
Whitman – Amanda Perry for more than 500 hours of cosmetology.
SILVER
Abington – Tiffany Woods for nail care and Christina Sandner for graphic communications.
Whitman – Peter Johnson for welding.
BRONZE
Scituate – Matthew Cole for carpentry.
