Posted on: Monday, 7 July 2003, 06:00 CDT

ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 2003--Noveon Inc., a global specialty chemical maker, has selected Dell(tm) (Nasdaq:DELL) systems and services to help simplify and streamline Noveon's technology infrastructure and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).

"Dell's relentless focus on customer service made the decision to choose them as our technology partner an easy one," said Todd Nelson, vice president global information technology, Noveon. "With Dell's industry-standard systems and single point of accountability approach to services, we were assured of a successful, cost-effective implementation and their responsiveness and commitment to this project have never failed."

Following a technology infrastructure roadmap that Dell Services designed, Noveon is installing more than 100 PowerEdge(tm) servers in its global datacenter, regional datacenters, and plant and sales office mini datacenters, and is migrating all sites to a full Microsoft(R) Windows(R) environment running Active Directory. Noveon has also deployed multiple Dell EMC storage area networks (SANs) at sites around the world to support Microsoft Exchange. The new global server and storage infrastructure is designed to enable Noveon to simplify administration, boost productivity and enhance data integrity. In addition, Dell is helping design and implement a state-of-the-art datacenter in Noveon's headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.

"Customers such as Noveon depend on Dell Services to provide a superior customer experience throughout the course of a project," said Gary Cotshott, vice president and general manager, Dell Services. "By applying Dell's business model to services, we provide Noveon a single point of accountability, increased speed and accuracy of design, deployment, and support, and help to maximize their systems and environment. These high quality, low cost services help Noveon lower the TCO of its IT infrastructure."
